The Altar is a volcano whose collapsed caldera is formed by several peaks of rock and ice that makes a mountain circle 90 degrees around and how a very old Caldera cone opening to the West a large window with two my edges large, the right and left giving the formation of the valley called Collanes, forming one of the most beautiful landscapes of the Ecuadorian Andes. Departure from Quito through the Panamericana Sur, cross the cities of Macachi, Latacunga capital would province of Cotopaxi, Salcedo a city where you can taste the best fruit ice cream made natural, following the route we will pass through the city of Ambato capital would province of Tungurahu name hinir the famous colossus and active Tungurahua Volcano, continuing the journey towards our goal and more in the south will reach a high valley called Urbina where you can see the mountains as the Carihuairazo and largest snowcapped volcano of Ecuador's Chimborazo, and finally we are in her province of the same name and sultana of the Andes, and near the city of Riobamba will I see with eastbound to Altar or (capac Urco) which began the adventure walk, already in the city of Riobamba leave the panamericana to delve east on secondary and full of landscape routes we move towards the Hacienda Releche, located in one of the entrances of the Sangay National Park in the province of Chimborazo from this place started the walk for approximately 6 hours and where we expect the mules or horses to take us heavy luggage to reach the shelter cabins located on one side of Collanes Valley. The luggage will be carried by carriers and mules.

After a hearty breakfast and have rested well, we will make the expected hike to the caldera Altar, explore, discover and enjoy the breathtaking view of its steep peaks, edges, valleys, Nature in all its splendor and icon Yellow wonderful Laguna from where his feet are born in the massif of the Altar. If the weather we may see the Chimborazo and we can walk an hour to reach the slopes of Fraile. This walk will be approximately 5-6 hours. In the afternoon he returned to sleep at the same cabins of the first night.

Before returning, will be a visit to Valley Collanes last to enjoy this beautiful place to start then walk back along the same route l climbed up to the Hacienda Releche, about 4-5 hours, where lunch and then begin the journey back to Quito.
