16 Days - BIKE TRIP ECUADOR

Day 1: Arrival here in Ecuador Transfer IN

Day2: City tour of Quito

We offer a scenic tour through Quito, a city of contrast between the Spanish colonial displays, pre-colombian art and Inca culture, also visit the national ethnological museum, which provides a good introduction to the history of Ecuador, several of the city's most interesting colonial churches, we look also the busy and traditional markets.

We contunue in our first day here in Ecuador we arrive at the small hill on the betweeng of Quito at 3000m from here we have to see the very impresive old Colonial City of Quito around our vew,  here we have the big virgen statue the siombol of the ecuadorina catholic culture.

We contine our first day in Ecuador, inmediatily we move to the ecuadorian line (mitad del mundo) On this nice blase we have to visite the Inti-Nañ ethnographic museum and all the ecuador culture, in the area you will be have the realy idea about the Ecuadorian line, we have at sientific test with the water jus on the really line. Full day of this tour, at afternoon back to Hotel.

Day 3: Qutio – Nono - Bellavista

Mountain Bike: Quito, Ambuasi, Nono, Río Alambi, Tandayapa. 47 Kilometer’s total of this day trip. Moderate way road.
This route covers many ecologicals zones as it leave Quito on the north flank of Pichincha volcano and descend to Tandayapa. This area
has long been famous for bird watching.
We leave from Quito at 8 am. For the road Quito Mitad del Mundo, after one hour we driving for secondary road at the hill for beginning our bike tour, first we would have a worm our body for driving the bike, altitude is at 3200m.  The first time is down hill for 6 km, after this time we have up hill for 1 km after this we have rest flat and down hill, another 300 m up only, after this nice down and up hills we have for long time bike drive in the traverses nice valley, all this road is very nice and beautiful view, after this valley we arriving at the Nono town, rest and good drink for hydrate our own, we cross Nono up hill again for arriving at the most high point on this trip at 3300m.

From here we driving down hill for long time on the very nice nature, after 45 minutes down hill near to the Alambi River we have a lunch, rest for one hour more or last and, continue for 2 more hours at the Tandayapa last sprint.  Will be cross this last part is very nice here you have a jungle life and cloud forest area.   We finish our mountain bike trip at 4 pm.  Arrival at the hotel Bellavista , rest and see near to you a lot of  spices of hummingbirds. Bay car from Quito 1h. Down hill for 4-5h. 15 minuts bay car to the hotel.

Day 4: Bellavista-Cloudforest road- Mindo-Otavalo
Moderate way road. Early in the morning we begin our bike trip, after 45 minutes driving for the spectacular cloud forest way we arrive at the hill Tandayapa. In this part of the road we look a variety birds, one of the protected areas for bird watching, in this park leave more than 330 species  birds. Begin the bike for 3 hours down hill to Mindo villages, after lunch, swimming in the Mindo river, in the afternoon Drive back to Otavalo.  Beginning with our bikes fro 3h. Bay car to Otavalo for 3h.

Day 5: Otavalo Market-Cuicoha lake.
The Otavaleño Indians coming down from their small villages in the surrounding mountains to sale their agricultural products and weavings for the life.  After a morning exploring and photographing as well and shopping time, we hike on the hills above the town of Otavalo.

Moderate way road. After exploring the colorful market in Otavalo, we head to the crater lake Cuicocha. The afternoon ride will lead us back to Otavalo, through quaint villages and striking views of surrounding volcanoes. Bay car 45minutes. Bay bikes for 2h30.

Day 6: Otavalo-Paramo de Oyacachi-Papallacta.
Moderate way road.We leave from Otavalo after the breakfast  bye our  private car  just to the very impressive paramo  from  the East Andes hills. From this part of the way we have an beautiful bike day down hill road, we cross a lot of Andes vegetation the unique panorama from this way, enjoy a picnic lunch on the way. Some days can be chilled by occasional fog, so don't forget your mittens and fleece, we arrive at our hotel by the bikes around 5pm. Bay car for 1h30. Bay bikes for 5h.

Day 7: Rest day on this wonderful place for recover our fitness  for the next bike days

Day 8: Papallacta-Arista de Guamani-Cotopaxi National Park.
Moderate way road. Papallacta thermal baths for a well-earned soak in the toasty hot springs. After a nice thermal baths rest we drive up just to the Ave Maria Pass hill at (4200m) or Guamani pass hill, we then bike down hill towards to Peñas Balncas a along the old road into the jungle, we continue our pedal bikes from Chiche river basin. This is one of the longest downhill rides in this program, about 45km. The last 12 kilometers will be on the famous railroad line going through five tunnels, one of which is 322 meters long. The spectacular ride takes us speeding through wide stretches of paramo and cloud forest, with the Andean sun illuminating the way. Some days can be chilled by occasional fog, so don't forget your mittens and fleece.  In Tumbaco we pile the bikes on the car roof and head drive to Cotopaxi national park. Arrive at this area around 5pm. Bay car for 50 miutes. Bay bikes for 4h. After this time we have a car again for 2h. More to tambopaxi.

Day 9: Tambopaxi-Cotopaxi-down hill-La Ciénega
Moderate way Road. Cotopaxi  National  Park...  we drive  West,  North,  East, south, We’er at this moment at the famous Cotopaxi  National  Park. from Tambopaxi we drive just at the base of Cotopaxi  Volcano,  we embark on the first leg of our journey: a wild ride  downward  to the silvery lake of Limpiopungo. Across the paramo landscape   you will often see wild herds of horses galloping free, as well as dainty clusters of paramo flowers in yellows, pinks and lavenders.
Eventually, we pedal through pine-forested lands until reaching the park's station,  where  a  llama  herd  is typically seen. We
continue  our  pedal just to the hacienda la Ciénega, in our way down hill and cross at the fertile Valley along the avenue of the volcanoes,
also  we  pass  longest  flower  plantation  until  we  arrive  at our destination la Ciénega were we spend the night. Bay car for 40 minuts. Bay bikes for 5h to la Ciénega.

Day 10: Ciénegas-Toacaso-Sigchos-Mama Hilda.
Moderat way road. From la Ciénega we pedal and moving up. To day subsequent we drive westwards over the widest páramo stretch of the country at Toacaso Andesn Villages continue our bike road we reach at the pass hill form were beginning an long down hill and cross the very green canyon at Toachi river were we pile the bikes on the car roof and drive up the the mama hilda mountain chale were we spend the night.  Arrive around 6pm. Biginnign bay bike for 6h. On the rio Toachi canio bay car for 1h.

Day 11: Mama Hilda – Quilotoa – Zumbahua - Baños
Moderat way road.This morning beginning early drive up to the Quilotoa lake.  We arrive at the rim of the volcano Quilotoa. Inmediatily to hike down to the deep jade colored crater lake. The Quilotoa town is very Indigenous population is situated at 3900m. We have a possibility to leave for one night with this population, nice experience.   
After hike up subsequent we Cycle towards Zumbahua along the “Grand Canyon” of Ecuador. Amazing downhill bike ride to Pujili.  Altitudes: 4500-2800 m. Completely wonderful day amazing experience on all the road.  In Pujili were we pile the bikes on the car roof and drive to Baños town. Bay car for 1h30. bay bike fopr 2h. Bay car for 1h. Bay bikes for 1h30.

Day 12: Rest full day at Baños.  Or make same other activity’s with out bikes.

Day 13: Baños-Puyo-Riobamba

Moderat way road. Puyo and the road of the Orchids... The group take a pre-breakfast dip in the thermal baths of Baños before pedaling east toward Puyo. You'll notice the dramatic temperature and vegetation changes as we descend into the steamy Amazon basin. Bike along the road of the Orchids to the Amazonian frontier town of Puyo, we head a wonderful view a long of the Pastaza River canyon,  splendorous cloud forest, we cross a magic rivers, the way down are fantastic. Lunch in the way down.  We finished our pedal bike on the villages Shell Mera were we pile our bike on the car roof and drive back to Baños, continue our drive to Riobamab Town. If we have enught time we padel from the Igualata hill just to Riobamba.  Arrive in the hotle around 6pm. Bay bikes for 7h. In Mera town we pick up the car to Riobamba for 4h.

Day 14: Riobamba --Alausi-Devil’s nose-Chimborazo mountain chalet (Estrella del Chimborazo at 4300m. (Day with out bikes)
This adventure begins in Riobamba where we will catch the 6:30 A.M. train to Sibambe.  This is the famous "Devil's Nose" train ride where you can ride on the roof of the train as it passes through native indigenous farms and the remote Allot Indian villages of the Chimborazo Province.  After arriving in the village of Alausi, the train continues on towards the Devil's Nose section, which is a switchback system of tracks built on a steep hill of andecite volcanic rock.  This is the highlight of the train ride and the point where your adrenaline really starts pumping. Finally, we arrive in Sibambe, where we disembark and where you can take some more photos of the train returning to Alausi at 1:30 Pm.  After lunch, we drive back to direction of Ribamba, after two hours drive we move to the chimborazo mountain here we drive to very nice road with the spectacular view. We arrive at this chalet aroun 5pm.  Overnight at the slopes of Chimborazo. We don’t use the bike just the car for 3h.

Day 15: Chalet estrella del Chimborazo-Chimborazo Whymper hut at 5000m.-to Quito
Moderat way road. We drive up after breakfast.  Chimborazo is (6310 m) the highest mountain of Ecuador. Arrive at first refuge at 4800m. We ascend on foot to second refuge Whimper at 5000m. after we take our bikes for a amazing bike ride through páramo landscape and more... Vicuñas are the sole inhabitants of these wild stretches. Altitudes: 5000-2800 m. We continue our last day on our bikes and take the old road Ambato Guaranda, were we pass at the feautyful Canion near at the Ambato river, this spectacular view is unque on all the rides we was have in our adventure bike trip, after 6 hours bike we arrive on the side of the Abmato Cyti were we pile our bikes on the car roof for drive back to Quito. Qrrive in Quito around 6pm.  Bay car for 30 minuts. Bay bikes for 5h. From ambato to quito bay car for 3h.

Day 16: Transfer Out to you flight back home EE.UU. CANADA. EUROPA OR ANEWAY!!!
